Video Assignment
Objectives:
- to create a video clip relating symbols, motion and sound
- to study movement, sequencing and time
- to examine basic geometric and spatial concepts
The Students Will:
- understand the concept of order by sequencing a series of events
- describe the position of an object in relation to another object
- describe the geometric shapes that are used in their construction
- understand the timing used in music and its relationship to movement
- create a video clip
- use a set of criteria for evaluation of their video
Materials/Tools:
- Flash
- royalty free music from Free Play Music
- eMac
- iTunes
The Video:
- Students will choose a selection of music available from Free Play Music
CDs using iTunes
- Students will choose a portion of the music selection that will be approximately
30 seconds in length or 360 frames in length and insert into its own layer
- Students will work directly in Flash with no preset shape development or
storyboard
- Students will create a series of geometric shapes.
- Students may modify and change number of shapes as the video is developed
- Students will use motion and shape tweening to move the geometric shapes
in time to the music
- Students will create either an introduction or credit page.
